PJW  RULES – YOUTH BOYS

  1. The wrestler must reside in one of the following counties; Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon.
  2. For registration purposes, entrants must select the school district in which they reside.
  3. A wrestler may only submit 1 Entry.
  4. Age as of December 31, 2023.
  5. PJW and PIAA rules apply to all applicants, coaches, and spectators.
  6. An 11 and 12-year-old on a Jr. High roster may choose only 1 PJW tournament series (Youth or Jr. High).
  7. Age Division & Weight Class:
    • 8 and Under: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 75, 90, 110
    • 9 & 10 YR OLD: 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 120, 150
    • 11 & 12 YR OLD: 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 160, 200
  8. No weight changes are permitted after 9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
    • ALL weight changes must be submitted in writing to info@pjwarea13.com
    • No phone, text or social media message weight changes will be accepted
    • No weight changes will be accepted after close of registration
  9. Wrestlers not making weight at weigh-in will forfeit their entry without refund.
  10. Birth Certificate and proof of residency of both wrestlers must be provided if challenged.
  11. Advancing wrestlers must complete the advancement process prior to leaving the tournament.
  12. Advancing wrestlers will be required to pay a non-refundable $100.00 apparel fee prior to leaving the tournament.
  13. All Championship Round Bout times are 1:30-1-1. Overtime is 1-minute sudden death, then a 30-second ride out if needed. Consolation rounds will be 1-1-1.
  14. Headgear is required, shoelaces must be secured, PIAA hair rule applies, and mouth guard is required to cover braces.
  15. Seeding will be by records provided on entry form.
  16. Full double-elimination format with wrestling back for true second.
  17. The application must be completed in its entirety.
  18. Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement & Participant Code of Conduct form must be completed and brought along to weigh in.
  19. Failure to comply with any PJW or PIAA rule will result in disciplinary action and/or forfeiture of participation.
  20. Weight classes with 5 or fewer participants will utilize round-robin format. Round Robin Rules and Criteria
