PJW  RULES – JUNIOR HIGH

  1. Wrestlers must reside in one of the following counties; Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster or Lebanon Counties
  2. For registration purposes, entrants must select the school district in which they reside.
  3. A wrestler may only submit 1 Entry.
  4. Wrestlers in grades 7, 8, and 9 with PIAA-defined Junior High eligibility may participate.
  5. No wrestler with PIAA-defined Varsity or Jr. Varsity experience will be permitted.
  6. An 11 and 12-year-old on a Jr. High roster may choose only 1 PJW tournament series (Youth or Jr. High).
  7. Refer to http://www.piaa.org/schools/eligibility/default.aspx for PIAA-defined eligibility.
  8. Jr High weight classes are based on the current PIAA established weight classes for that academic year. 
  9. No weight changes are permitted after registration closes.
    • ALL weight changes must be submitted before the close of registration and be emailed to info@pjwarea13.com
    • No phone, text, or social media messages will be accepted
    • No weight changes will be accepted after the close of registration
  10. Wrestlers who do not make weight at the weigh-in will forfeit their entry without refund.
  11. Birth certificates and proof of residency of both wrestlers must be provided if challenged.
  12. Advancing wrestlers must complete the advancement process before leaving the tournament.
  13. Advancing wrestlers will be required to pay a non-refundable $100.00 apparel fee prior to leaving the tournament.
  14. All Bout times are 1:30 – 1:30 – 1:30. PIAA Overtime rules will apply.
  15. Headgear is required.
  16. Seeding will be by the records provided on the entry form.
  17. Full double-elimination format with wrestle back to third place
  18. Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement & Participant Code of Conduct form must be completed and brought along to weigh in.
  19. Failure to comply with any PJW or PIAA rule will result in disciplinary action and/or forfeiture of participation.
  20. Weight classes with 5 or fewer participants will utilize a round-robin format. Round Robin Rules and Criteria
